National Apprenticeship Week

National Apprenticeship Week

National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) is November 13 through 19, 2023. Registered Apprenticeships (RAP) play an important role in creating opportunities for individuals to earn while they learn and prepare for a pathway to good, quality jobs and well-paying careers in the eight counties of Region 5. There are over 70 RAP programs in Central Indiana. Apprenticeships benefit employers by enabling them to create a custom trained and loyal workforce. The US Department of Labor (DOL) reports that 90% of completing appretices remain with their employer. Apprentices benefit from immediate earnings and wage increases as they progress through training. RAP completers earn over $300,000 more during their career than their peers who do not complete per DOL data. The Region 5 Workforce Board calls upon the employers in Region 5 to recognize the value of Registered Apprenticeship and to promote industry awareness and expansion. The Board is ready to assist employers in creating programs. For more information contact Lance Ratliff at lratliff@workonecentral.org.
