HENDRICKS LIVE! IN PLAINFIELD ANNOUNCES FOUR NEW CONCERTS FOR APRIL AND MAY ‘24

Brand new venue continues to roll out additional events

PLAINFIELD, IN – February 28, 2024 – Hendricks Live! is continuing to roll out plans, preview concerts, and community events for the brand-new performing arts center that is set to start hosting performances this March.

Today Hendricks Live! announced the following shows as part of the Spring 2024 season presented by Hendricks County Bank and Trust and supported by Hendricks Regional Health:

  • Matthew Sweet - Wednesday, April 24
  • Stanley Clarke Band - Thursday, May 9
  • Britnee Kellogg and Presley & Taylor - Sunday, May 12
  • Sebastian Bach - Friday, May 31

Matthew Sweet moved to Athens, GA at the urging of his pen pal, R.E.M.’s Michael Stipe in the early 1980s. Sweet honed his craft in the flourishing alternative rock scene playing with Oh-OK, Lloyd Cole, the Golden Palominos, Buzz of Delight, and recording two critically-acclaimed solo records before emerging in 1991 as the leading figure of the American power pop revival with the release of his watershed album, Girlfriend, which became a word-of-mouth critical and commercial hit over the course of 1992, with its title track reaching the Top Five on the Modern Rock charts. For the next five years, as alternative rock was the dominant commercial force in rock & roll, Sweet became a very popular concert attraction and solidified his reputation as the premiere alternative pop singer/songwriter. His next two records, Altered Beast (1993) and 100% Fun (1995) were both critically acclaimed and successful albums, with the latter reaching platinum status and making many year-end best-of lists. Sweet continued to evolve over a string of well-received albums in the early 2000s. In 2006, he joined forces with Bangles frontwoman Susanna Hoffs to record a series of covers from the ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s, Under the Covers, Vol. 1–3. Sweet’s music has appeared in numerous films, television shows, and games, including Austin Powers, Guitar Hero II, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Simpsons, and Scooby-Doo, among many others. Sweet was a lead consultant on Tim Burton’s Margaret Keane biopic Big Eyes in 2014. His 15th studio album, 2021’s Catspaw (Omnivore Recordings) is guitar-driven: 12 songs, lean and consistent, direct, and notably darker than Sweet’s recent song-cycles.

NEA Jazz Master and four-time Grammy Award Winner Stanley Clarke has attained “living legend” status during his over 50-year career as a bass virtuoso. He is the first bassist in history who doubles on acoustic and electric bass with equal ferocity and the first jazz-fusion bassist ever to headline tours, selling out shows worldwide. A veteran of over 40 albums, he won the 2011 Best Contemporary Jazz Album Grammy Award for The Stanley Clarke Band. Clarke co-founded the seminal fusion group Return to Forever with Chick Corea and Lenny White. In 2012 Return to Forever won a Grammy Award and Latin Grammy for Best Jazz Instrumental Album, Forever.

Today, you’ll find Britnee Kellogg sharing the stage with the likes of Blake Shelton, Lee Brice, Kane Brown and Jon Pardi. You may have also seen her on Season 11 and Season 12 of American Idol. She has recently been focusing on building her online presence to reach a seemingly untouched market, and has had several songs go viral, with two debuting on the country and all genre charts after release. "Back of My Mind," has over 19 million TikTok impressions, and debuted at number 4 on the iTunes charts. “Hey Mama” currently has over 18 million TikTok impressions and debuted at #3 on the iTunes Charts. “Back of my Mind” has over 10 million combined streams, and “Hey Mama” has brought in 9 million. This year, Britnee will be releasing a 12 song full length album that will showcase her personal story through her songs and her rich vocals. Her goal is to create a sound that people can relate to and to help them know they’re not alone in what they’re going through. She brings a party to the stage and inspires others to pursue their dreams. She is a driven, passionate artist with a deep love for her craft.

Presley & Taylor are a dynamic country duo that has taken the music industry by storm with their undeniable talent, captivating performances, and heartfelt songwriting. Hailing from Connecticut, these two sisters have quickly made a name for themselves in the country music scene, earning a dedicated fanbase and critical acclaim along the way. With three previous singles, “22 Red Flags,” “Don’t Even Know Your Mama,” and “Everybody Sees It,” Presley & Taylor have made a significant impact on streaming platforms, amassing well over 5 million streams across all platforms.

With an inimitable presence as loud as his instantly identifiable voice, Sebastian Bach has left a San Andreas Fault-size imprint on music, theater, film, television, and culture. Moreover, his influence only continues to magnify. He has penned and voiced some of the most iconic anthems in rock history, crafting a catalog highlighted by generational hits such as “18 and Life,” “I Remember You,” “Youth Gone Wild,” “Slave To The Grind,” “Wasted Time,” and “Monkey Business,” to name a few. He has made history as “the first heavy metal singer on Broadway” with a now legendary turn in Jekyll & Hyde: The Musical in addition to leading roles in The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Jesus Christ Superstar. He has appeared in dozens of television series and films, ranging from “Trailer Park Boys” and “Robot Chicken” to “Spongebob Squarepants,” “The Masked Singer,” and “Hell’s Kitchen.” Speaking to his versatility, he’s the rare force of nature who can duet with Axl Rose and reprise a seven-season recurring role on “Gilmore Girls.”
